A Song For You

Enjoy Smooth Jazz and the Sultry Vocals of Patrice Villastrigo, a True Diva. Complimented By The Soulful Blues Of Texas Legend And Music Hall Of Fame Inductee, Vernon “Spot” Barnett On Horns and vocals, and Tony Lara’s beautiful classical influenced piano. You’ll Want To Play this CD over and over again!

“My heartfelt gratitude is extended to everyone who helped this recording come to life, most particularly Toni Lara and Spot Barnett who encouraged me to create this CD, asking for very little in return!

“The musicians who performed with me were wonderfully patient, kind and ever-encouraging! I am grateful to each of them for their words of wisdom and unending support. They constantly reminded me that ” the subtle imperfections”, which I wanted to change, “are what make the live recordings so charming!” I’d also like to extend my appreciation to my brother, pianist and writer Vance Villastrigo, who pointed out that “every other note Frank Sinatra sang was flat and nobody seemed to mind, neither Frank nor his fans!!” How very charming indeed!” Patrice Villastrigo

To give you an idea of what you will find within this CD, international comedian and entertainer Jade Esteban Estrada says, “Patrice has such a powerful and soulful voice it stops you in your tracks! Then you find yourself smiling and you just HAVE to hear more!.”

Cape Town, South Africa Jazz Rendevous Radio Show’s Eric Alan and San Antonio, Texas’s Hank Harrison labeled Patrice “the female Frank Sinatra.”

The CD not only features the smooth and soulful vocals of Patrice Villastrigo, but also the bluesy vocals and saxophone of Music Hall of Fame inductee Vernon “Spot” Barnett. Both performers, natives of San Antonio, Texas, have performed for jazz enthusiasts worldwide for decades.

A SONG FOR YOU CD: In August 2008, after urging from Spot Barnett and

Tony Lara, Patrice finally recorded some of her favorite songs.

Golden Orchid CD

This recording started with one week left to film the movie, The Mexico Jazz Tour, with jazz greats from around the world, including Richie Cole and Gene Perla, We had 4 days to record before departing San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, after the last tour concert. With their own performance rehearsals and gigs, both with the tour band and with others, the musicians had little time to devote to this CD project. With one afternoon to rehearse and two afternoons to record! Then Gene Perla took over the project at his studio in Pennsylvania, adding components with Patrice, then mixing and mastering the CD

GOLDEN ORCHID CD

The idea of the Golden Orchid CD came about through the making of a major motion picture which includes all of the musicans on this CD. With one week left of the tour, we made this incredible CD. All arrangements by Patrice Villastrigo.

Get ready to rock your socks off, relax, and to go off into fantasyland...all from the music within this CD! It all began with a young lady from Texas, Patrice, wanting to film a jazz tour of famous musicians, then wishing to record with them. This recording started with one week left to film the 'boys in the band' before they all departed San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, after the last tour concert and went their separate ways. With their own performance rehearsals and gigs, both with the tour band and with other musicians, they had little time to devote to my CD project. However, the musicians herein 'squoze' in this project...with one afternoon to rehearse and two afternoons to record! Then Gene Perla became co-producer of the project at his studio in Pennsylvania. What a master at his craft! Accompanied by engineer, Nick de la Motte, Patrice asked Gene to "symphonize" some of the songs. So, he would sit at the midi and in one take play the piece brilliantly! What a blessing that all of these very talented and authentic musicians are represented within this project! "Authentic" means musicians who truly care about the sound of each note being produced!

Regarding the bonus tracks, Pure Imagination and I Put A Spell On You, Patrice created "Musical Animations", with the help of engineering genius Nick de la Motte, that included repeats, reverbs and sounds...like no other!! Both of the Bonus Tracks are 'no holds barred' songs! Thank you for listening! The CD Musicians: Patrice Villastrigo, Michael Villastrigo, Richie Cole, Spot Barnett, Gabriel Hernandez, Gene Perla, Ken Basman, Joel Williams, Tyler Mitchell, Bobby Kapp and Nick de la Motte.

Clueless In Dallas (Single)

Patrice’s voice beautifully captures the melancholy tone of the song. As does the Jazzy, Blues 6/8 time. Texas Hall of Fame Inductee & Heart and Soul Award winner, Spot Barnett, brings his Soulful Sax into the mix! You’ll say, “Play it again Spot!
